This 3,7km long hiking trail, also known as The Hunting Trail is located close to the center of Juuka. This trail has on display old and traditional hunting instruments , feeding instruments and hunting techniques encompassed by hunters in the old days before the industrial revolution. Hikers will be able to identify feeding shelters for hare, bear traps, a tower for elk observation, boards for catching foxes and mink bunkers. The hiking trail has a wide path, is easy to walk for both kids and adults, and is full of natural history.

The terrain of this area is highly versatile! Dry hayfields transform into coniferous forests in a matter of seconds, and the path leads to the riverside, covered in. Luscious ferns. A lean to, located along the path, offers a campfire for grilling and more. Moving forwards past the lean to will lead you to an outdoor shooting range, designed for trap shooting, air rifles and more.

Route: Driving past the Juuka roundabout towards Juuankoskifor 4 kms will lead you to a right turn on Viitaniementie 422 (which also has a sign saying “Ampumarata”). The parking lot on the left past the metal gate is the optimal spot for parking your car, leading you to the hiking trail behind the building.
